Vincent van Gogh is generally considered the greatest Dutch painter after Rembrandt, but do we really know the man behind the paintings? The play, based on the letters written by Vincent van Gogh and his brother Theo, leads to surprising new insights in Van Gogh's way of working and life. In association with the Van Gogh Museum, Hummelinck Stuurman will present the production subtitled during the Amsterdam run at the recently opened DeLaMar Theatre.

Power and passion in moving theatrical experience
Vincent & Theo shows the painters passion for women, his quest for true calling, his combat between genius and madness, success and failure and most of all the warm but suffocating relationship with his brother Theo. A relationship based on selfishness, blackmail, expulsion,reconciliation and mutual dependency that ends in the suicide of Vincent in the fields of Auvers.
